Using Kinect to apply a real time dynamic focus

In this hack Kinect depth information is used to apply a selective blurring filter to the video stream. The result is similar to the depth of field effect of professional cameras. This opens the doors to all kind of new video filters which use not only the image as input, but also the depth of each pixel.
