This video shows a 3D scanner prototype. The algorithm takes as input the mesh scream generated by the Kinect device and searches and tracks key points used to match the topology between two consecutive frames. This can be used for example to scan large environments that cannot be fitted into a single shot of the device.

3d boxed reconstruction using Kinect depth information
This Kinect Hack shows another possibility on how reconstructing the 3D scene. In this case the hack uses Kinect depth information a colorful boxed reconstruction with colors mapping the depth of the different blocks.
